An accident led Physiotherm founder Luis Schwarzenberger to infrared warmth treatments. Following initial success, he began to investigate in depth the effects of deep infrared warmth. Luis Schwarzenberger’s development began with the notion that warmth therapy of the whole body could strengthen the human body as a whole and the immune system in particular. After one year of working in his own basement at home, the owner of Physiotherm had achieved his goal: he had developed the first prototype for his infrared cabin. “An infrared cabin requires little space; in 1960 a shower was a novelty, but by no later than 1980 a shower cabin was a standard component in every bathroom,” Schwarzenberger stated, relating his vision for the future of his infrared cabins.
